![]() We produce native purple iris from seed. Since they are native to Alaska, from Ketchikan to at least Fairbanks, they are very hardy. The spring shoots of this plant will actually come up through the ice making it the first green thing to be appear each year. They produce 1 to 4 large purple blooms per stalk each year and spread by seed and rooting. They do very well in wet areas as this is their natural habitat but also do just fine in well drained, but not very dry sites. This makes them an excellent choice for revegetation and/or erosion control on most sites. They are also very fire resistant. We also have white iris and have some for sale at this time.
